The Aftermath of Battle

Over the past few days,
Armies waged war against the outside world.
Amidst the chaos,
Heroes were born.

Nights of uncertainty,
Days spent staring into the unknown.
Not knowing what lay around the corner,
Has it finally come to an end?

As the sun dawns on a new day,
I look on the battlefield in horror.
People lay dying,
Of wounds so indescribable and severe.

In battles,
There are no victors.
Only losers,
Some losing more than others.

In the aftermath,
I could hear people cheering.
While I see those who lay wounded around me,
I too found myself wounded in the fighting.

The results, though satisfactory,
Was far from what I had expected.
Perhaps my standards are too high.
Should I be glad that I’m alive?

As one battle ends,
Another looms over the horizon.
As I gear up for battle,
I pray that my wounds heal fast.

It’s only a matter of time,
Before I too, fall in battle
Would you be there to save me?
Or should I lay dying?



This is dedicated to all of us.. As a class we have to stick together to make sure that we don't die in battle.. Let's charge towards the A levels together, as a class and as friends! For Honor!!! For Glory!!!
